Frequently Asked Questions about Senior Portraits

Julie G Photography is all about those who want an experience rather than 'just' senior pictures.

Because of this, I can only take a select number of seniors to provide the extra care that goes into creating your experience.


How will you help me look and be more creative?

Together, we will create your ideal photoshoot by incorporating what you love. Hobbies, interests, sports, style, fashion, etc.

How will you make me look and feel beautiful?

Self confidence is something we ALL struggle with. Helping you build confidence and self esteem by showing you the way I see you and the way you want to be SEEN will help bring out what you've already got!  Posing and lighting are key.

How will you keep me inspired?

Subscribing to my email list, following me on IG.  I email and post different topics to pique your interest and inspiration. PS believe it or not, You inspire me every day!

Does your session or products have to do with a cause I support?

Hopefully. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle is VERY important to Julie G Photography (and me personally). I only uses labs in the US that use eco-friendly products, and they're facilities are also vastly eco-friendly by recycling more than 150 tons of paper and packaging materials annually and by offering a range of press product papers that are Forestry Stewardship Council certified (FSC® License #C011384).

Will your sessions or products make me more independent?

Uhhh, hell yeah! This is your story, you’re the reason I do this! I want you to be you. This is your first experience where you get to show the world who you are.

Will you fulfill my need for adventure?

I am all for an adventure! Tell me what you've got in mind! Independence, confidence, and creativity are the first steps towards your adventure!


How much should I plan to spend, and what does "minimum investment" mean?  

Account for both the session retainer and the minimum investment.  The final amount is entirely up to you.  Collections start at 500.  The "minimum investment" means each session is allocated a predetermined amount of time to create the experience.  Since I can only take a certain number of seniors, this allows me to give you my undivided attention.  Each session includes a consultation meeting where I will help you determine which session is best for you.

What does the session retainer cover?  Does it include any images?

The session retainer covers the consultation, planning and preparing for your session, the time and talent during your session, the hair and makeup artist, and image preparation for your Reveal and Ordering Session.  The session retainer does NOT cover (or include) any images or artwork.  The session retainer is non-refundable and is required to be paid at your consultation to hold your date.

When is the minimum investment due?

By booking with Julie G Photography, you are committing to the minimum requirement of the session chosen and must be paid in full at the Reveal and Ordering Session as compensation for services rendered, whether or not product selections have been made.

Do I have to come in for the consultation?

YES!  The consultation is a major part of your experience.  This is where we really get to know each other more and so I can get a feel for your expectations!  This will be fun!  Don't worry, it'll be easy!  Planning is almost as fun as the session itself!  Remember, this is all about the experience!

 Do you photograph in indoors or on location?

We can do both.  I've got accessibility to a studio in Newport, KY (there will be an extra fee).  There are sooo many outdoor locations as well.  We will find the perfect spots for you.

How many outfits will I get to wear?

However many you want!  Just remember, the more you bring the less time you'll have for shooting.  Prior to your session, I will help you select the perfect outfits to tell your story.  

When will I get to see the images from my session?

Typically you will get to see your images about two weeks (after your session).  After your photoshoot, we will coordinate your Reveal and Ordering Session.  This can be done in your home.  You will get to see your images for the first time!  This is also when your artwork and ordering is done.  ALL DECISION MAKERS MUST BE PRESENT.  I will guide you thru the process by bringing artwork samples to help decide what's best for you, your family, and your home.

When will I get my order?

Depending on your artwork chosen, it usually takes about two-three weeks after the Reveal Session.  Once everything is delivered to me and approved, we will decide on a date for me to bring everything to you.  **Remember, payment for your order is due in full for your order to be placed.  You will receive your web-sharing images via a Dropbox link as soon as I get back to my office.

How long do you keep my images?

All ordered images are archived for one (1) year from the date of the Reveal appointment.

Can I use my pictures in my school yearbook?

Not at this time.  The schools in our area require you to go to their designated photographer for yearbook pictures.

What happens if I need to reschedule my session (or an appointment)?

I understand that unexpected emergencies happen (illness, weather, travel issues).  If something happens, I ask that you email me at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled date in order for us to be able to reschedule.

I am able to provide a one-time reschedule if you notify me a minimum of 48 hours prior to your appointment.

Remember, your session retainer is non-refundable, however you may apply it towards your rescheduled date if completed within three (3) months of the original date.

Can I make a copy of my image to print?

All images remain property of Julie G Photography, LLC and Julie Goerler, and are protected under U.S. Federal Copyright Laws.  Duplication in part or in whole (including, but not limited to, scanning or reprinting) is strictly prohibited and may incur fines up to $10,000 per image as defined by law.
